I am a long-term resident of Japan who specializes in Japanese to English communications facilitation, including translation, bilingual project management, and communications consulting. I am also a visiting scholar at Keio University focusing on the anthropology of leisure in Japan.

I also organize, plan, and lead cultural experiences in Japan for international and domestic clients, including the Harvard Club of Japan, Pasona Group, and the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. In 2014 I was recognized by the English Department of Japan Women's University for excellence.

I also edit and organize English-language educational materials for clients including Kawai Juku and Shogakukan.

Bilingual Editor, Shogakukan Inc. (2010 - present)

Created pedagogical content for both J-E and E-J versions of the Progressive series of English-Japanese dictionaries. Edited both versions of the dictionary for accuracy, style, and usability from the perspective of either language user. Edited quiz book based on dictionary.

Translation clients include Daiwa Shobo, Yamanashi Gakuin University, Tokyo University, MyStays Hotel Group, and Tokyo Institute of Technology.

Aikido Senshusei, 22nd International Senshusei Program (2012 - 2013)

Graduated with instructor certification. 

The Senshusei course is a one-year intensive Aikido course, the only one of its kind in the world, originally developed in the early 60s to train the Tokyo Metropolitan Riot Police. It continues to this day, with a small but elite group of men and women having the distinction of graduating with a Senshusei Shodan qualification.
